Moors murders

50 years ago sixteen old girl Pauline Reade was abducted by Myra Hindley and Ian Brady. It was first of five the Moors murders.

Young lovers kidnapped and killed five children between July 1963 and October 1965. Three remains were found later in Saddleworth Moor, an quite area near Manchester.

Murderers was founded guilty and was sentenced to life in prison because a death penalty had been abolished in the United Kungdom. Myra Hindley was characterised by the press as the most evil woman in Britain. She died in prison in 2002, aged 60.

Ian Brady is still alive. He spent 19 years in prisons before being diagnosed as a psychopath in 1985. After he sent to the high-security Ashworth Psychiatric Hospital in Sefton.

Remains of Pauline Reade were found in July 1987. The body of a fourth victim, Keith Bennett undiscovered.

P.S. Manchester City Council decided in 1987 to demolish the house in Hattersley where murderers lived.
