Tyne Cot

99 years ago... The World War I began.

Passendale is a village in the Zonnebeke municipality, West Flanders. Its population is less than 3,000. But this settlement is famous for Tyne Cot.

This is the largest Commonwealth cemetery in the World. There are 11,954 burials, of which 8,367 are unnamed.

The memorial was unveiled on 20 June 1927 by Sir Gilbert Dyett.
