Fiesta Nacional de España

Viva España!

Today is the Fiesta Nacional de España. National Day of Spain is held annually on October 12. It commemorates the anniversary of Christopher Columbus's first arrival in the Americas, a day also celebrated in other countries. Since 2000, this date has also been Spain's Day of the Armed Forces, celebrated each year with a military parade in Madrid.

Spain is a country with a great history. There are many showplaces.

Toro de Osborne

Bulls are symbols of Spain. And...

1. Alcázar de Toledo. It is a stone fortification located in the highest part of the city. Also Alcazar is a highly symbolic Nationalist victory in Toledo in the opening stages of the Spanish Civil War.

6. Alhambra is a palace and fortress complex. It is a landmark of Granada.

7. Santiago de Compostela. It is a burial-place of Saint James and the destination of the Way of St. James, a major pilgrimage route of Spain.

8. Mezquita. Mosque–Cathedral of Córdoba is a landmark of the city.

9. The Churches of the Vall de Boí are a set of nine Early Romanesque churches in the Catalan comarque of Alta Ribagorça.

10. Catedral de Justo. It is building by one man.

11. El Escorial. It is an historical residence of the Kings of Spain.
