Torre Ejecutiva Pemex

One year ago an explosion at the Torre Ejecutiva Pemex in Mexico City kills 37 people and injures more than 100.

Torre Ejecutiva Pemex is a skyscraper (214 m) with a heliport in Mexico City. It has been occupied by state-owned Pemex, one of the largest petroleum companies in the world.

Pemex explosion

At about 15:45 (CST), an explosion occurred in the basement of a parking garage adjacent to the main office building. The blast caused the first two stories of the fourteen-floor Building B-2 to partially collapse.

The cause of the blast was a gas leak that was ignited by an electrical fault.
