100 years ago...

... at this day World War I began.

19-year-old Serbian nationalist Gavrilo Princip assassinates Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria and his wife, Duchess Sophie, in Sarajevo, now Bosnia and Herzegovina, triggering the July Crisis and World War I.

The War lasted until 11 November 1918. More than 9 million people were killed.

P.S. Gavrilo Princip died on 28 April 1918 at Terezin fortress 3 years and 10 months after it.
